
Strawberries in rose syrup

Ingredients
- 300ml rosé wine
- 1 tsp rose water
- 125g golden caster sugar
- 1 lemon, peeled with a swivel peeler
- 600g strawberries, small ones left whole
- toasted waffles
- greek yogurt
Method
- STEP 1
Put the wine, rose water, sugar and lemon peel into a large, wide saucepan with 100ml water. Heat the liquid gently until the sugar has dissolved, then turn up the heat and bring to a simmer for 10 minutes, until you have a syrup. Leave to cool. Remove the lemon zest.
- STEP 2
Add the strawberries and toss them in the cooled syrup. Serve on warm waffles with a spoon of greek yogurt.
