When it comes to holiday gatherings, Iโm all about keeping things simple yet special. Thatโs why I always reach for a festive punch recipe like this Holly Jolly Christmas Punch. Itโs a fun, easy way to serve up some holiday cheer without spending a ton of time behind the bar.
Several years ago, I shared a Christmas punch recipe here on Inspired by Charm. (My Jingle Juice Holiday Punch.) Since then, that has been one of the most popular posts on my blog during the Christmas season.
I love crafting cocktails for the holiday โ there are so many festive flavors I love incorporating into stunning-looking drinks for entertaining. I adore festive cocktails so much I have an entire post dedicated to them. Y
When it comes to easy entertaining, I love making a punch. Itโs always a hit and is an easy way to set the Christmasy mood. When people come over, I can create a big batch and let people refill themselves while Iโm busy worrying about food! Itโs an easy way to keep a big crowd happy.
Like most punches, this Holly Jolly Christmas Punch is so simple to make and will please the palate of everyone โ every one of legal drinking age, of course! In fact, I just made this punch this past weekend before my mom arrived, and she loved the recipe as much as I did.

If youโre anything like me, you might be surprised that tequila is the liquor of choice for this Christmas punch. To be honest, when I got the recipe from a friend, I was a bit concerned, as tequila isnโt my favorite unless itโs served in margarita form.
However, donโt let the tequila fool you. I actually had my mom try this punch, and she had no idea it was made with tequila. She just loved the flavor as much as I did. Just remember thereโs tequila hiding in there before you donโt have too many glasses of this Christmas punch!

Ingredients
Hereโs what youโll need to recreate this recipe.
- Pineapple Juice: I use canned pineapple juice to make things nice and easy. Itโs just as sweet and tasty as the fresh stuff! If you want to make this punch sweeter, just add more pineapple juice.
- Cranberry Juice: Because itโs Christmas, youโll need some cranberry juice. The punch also takes on a beautiful pinky-red hue due to the juice.
- Squirt: I absolutely love the combination of grapefruit and cranberry, so adding in some Squirt soda gives some delicious citrus flavor as well as fizz.
- Tequila: I like to stick to reasonably good quality liquor, even when itโs hiding in a punch. You donโt need top-tier tequila, but a medium-range silver tequila is perfect. For this recipe, I used Sauza.
- Cranberries and Limes: Every good punch needs a beautiful garnish! I add cranberries to the ice cubes as well as a few floaters alongside the sliced limes.
I love using large ice cubes for the ice when Iโm making Christmas punch. Not only do they take longer to melt, but when filled with pretty things like cranberries, pomegranate arils (seeds), and lime slices, they make any punch look quite beautiful too.
You can find the exact mold I used HERE; I have had them for years and love them!

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make this punch ahead of time?
Itโs best to prepare this punch just before serving to keep the soda nice and fizzy. However, you can mix the cranberry juice, pineapple juice, and tequila a few hours in advance and store it in the fridge. When ready to serve, add the Squirt soda, ice, and garnishes.
What kind of tequila should I use?
A medium-range silver (blanco) tequila works well for this punch. Thereโs no need to go top-shelf, but a decent quality tequila will complement the flavors better than a budget option. If you prefer a different liquor, you could also substitute vodka or rum.
Can I add other garnishes to this punch?
Absolutely! In addition to cranberries and lime slices, you could add pomegranate seeds, orange slices, or even fresh mint sprigs for a bit of extra color and flavor. Itโs an easy way to customize the punch for your own holiday style.

I have made this so many times! Everyone raves about it, I made it last night for my cocktail party, and I tripled the recipe, I have left, how long will it keep or could I freeze it?
Thank you!
Because of the soda, I’m not sure it will keep / freeze well. It will end up being flat. You’re welcome to try, but I’m not sure what the results will be.

Absolutely the best!!! I hate tequila and this is magnificent. It was a hit at my holiday party last year and will make another appearance this year!!!
I’m so happy to hear that Robbie! Cheers!

Is this recipe correct with 92 oz of pineapple juice? Seems like a lot compared to the other ingredients
Which tequila sausage did you use? Gold? Silver? Or blanco?
If you were looking for a nonalcoholic version, could you just leave out the tequila? The other three sound like an interesting combo.
How would I make this for a single serving?
Thanks!
This is roughly the scaled down measurements for a single serving…at least it’s what I’m going to try ๐
2 oz cranberry juice
2 oz Squirt soda
1.5 oz pineapple juice
.75-1 oz tequila blanco
What is “squirt”, so that I might find an equivalent?
Its a citrus soda, I believe grapefruit flavored. It is similar to sprite, but has its own distinct flavor.
It’s a citrus soda. They called it a “grapefruit soda”.

My parents are from Mexico, its common to use just squirt and tequila for a drink, with a salted rim if you’d like.
Good choice on Squirt, its not very common. I’m excited to do this punch for a christmas party!!
This was so so good, itโs right up there with Jingle Juice, very festive and brings you right into that Holiday Spirit, another winner Michael ๐๐๐
